The Ndigboamaka Progressive Markets Association (NPMA) has announced that the 3rd edition of the *United Nigeria Airlines – Ndigboamaka Traders Cup 2026* has entered its most exciting and decisive phase, with major markets battling for supremacy and pride.
The prestigious traders’ football fiesta, which kicked off earlier this month, has lived up to its billing as more than just a competition. From Alaba International to Ladipo, Trade Fair Complex to Computer Village, football teams representing affiliate markets under Ndigboamaka have thrilled fans with raw talent, discipline, sportsmanship and the spirit of brotherhood – perfectly embodying the tournament’s theme of *Unity, Health and Peaceful Co-existence.
Speaking on the tournament, the President of Ndigboamaka Progressive Markets Association, Hon. Comrade Chinedu Ukatu. said he is highly impressed with the conduct of all participating teams.
According to him, football has once again proven to be a powerful unifying force among traders in Lagos.
The President announced that all roads will now lead to the Grand Finale on Saturday, November 14th, 2026, at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, by 12:00 noon prompt.
In a major highlight, the grand finale will feature a Special Novelty Match between the Nigeria Customs Service Team and the Ndigboamaka Traders All-Stars.
The novelty clash, Hon. Ukatu explained, goes beyond football. It is a strategic move to deepen the cordial relationship, foster mutual understanding and strengthen collaboration between traders and the Nigeria Customs Service for ease of doing business, trade facilitation and national development.
He therefore called on all traders, market leaders, business moguls, football enthusiasts and the general public to come out en masse to support their markets and witness history.
“We are using football to unite our markets, promote healthy living and strengthen collaboration with government agencies that facilitate trade. This final will be historic. Come and cheer your market to victory,” Hon. Ukatu declared.
