By Ebenezer William

The Customs Area Controller Tincan Island Port, Comptroller Dera A Nnadi mni, called for a dinner to celebrate the 18th day of IFTAR with our Muslim brethren as well as to usher in the celebration of Easter with our Christian brethren.

Speaking at the occasion this evening at the Tincan Island Area Command, the CAC highlighted the importance of coming together to uphold the nation in prayers for continuous development.

Welcoming other sister security agencies, stakeholders of the port and gentlemen of the press, the CAC applauded the Port Manager, Mr Sylvester O Egede who reported recently to the port but has achieved a great feat due to the synergy between the Customs, other Sister security agencies, as well as the press who has always shown the activities of the port positively.

Speaking further, the Area Controller urged all stakeholders to be dedicated in their respective fields towards national growth and development.

Comptroller Dera Nnadi spoke highly of Mr Egede’s feat at the port within a short time of his arrival and urged all stakeholders to be dedicated to working for national growth

Comp. Nnadi mni expressed his appreciation towards the collaboration received by truck operators and craved that they should endeavour to understand that the resolved traffic situation is a positive development that will encourage seamless vehicular movement and multiple turnovers within a short time to the port, as compared to what was obtained in the past.

He said the traffic situation has caused deaths to some road users and adversely affected the government’s drive for trade facilitation and ease of doing business.

Responding, the Port Manager of Tin Can Island Port Mr Sylvester Othuke Egede gave insight and explained how a combination of long-standing work experience, environmental awareness and institutional knowledge contributed to solving the traffic challenges that obstructed the flow of vehicular movement from Mile 2 to the Tincan Seaport.

In his closing remark, the CAC TCIPC, thanked all who made time to honour the invitation, especially the Imam of TCIPC Mosque, who gave the closing prayers at the event. His prayers were for the success of the Nation and the government at all times, as a prosperous nation would rub off positively on her citizens.
