Ogun 11 Customs: Controller Ahmadu Shuaibu Improves On Revenue Collection

Deputy-Comptroller Ahmadu Shuaibu, is a seasoned and highly trained professional Customs officer with exceptional expertise in the collection of Customs Excise Duties, in addition to
maintaining a well balanced relationship with all stakeholders.

Since he assumed duty as the Customs Area Controller of the Command, the revenue generation of the Command has been increased in a geometric progression, in addition to making a significant improvement in revenue collection, enforcement of anti-smuggling operations, export promotion and synergy with stakeholders in the Command.

For example, between October and December 2022, the Ogun 11 Customs Area Command generated N6.0 billion, as revenue. A comparative analysis of the Command’s performance between 2022 and 2021, showed an improvement of 25.44% over and above the performance of 2021.

His successes and achievements is due mainly to practical involvement of inter-agency collaboration, networking, incidence profiling,
information gathering and processing, deployment of massive intelligence and monitoring of the Command.

The report has shown that between January and March 2022, the Command generated N5, 261, 874, 355. 63, in the first quarter, while between April and June 2022, N4, 339, 081, 812. 74, was collected in the second quarter.

Furthermore, between July to September 2022, the Command collected N5, 923, 776, 286. 63, in the third quarter, while between October and December 2022, N6, 492, 510, 631 .32, was collected in the last quarter of 2022. While the total sum of N22, 017 billion, was collected into the Government coffers in the year 2022.

The Controller, appreciated the compliant traders, while encouraging them to discharge their respective duty effectively.

He also commended all officers and men of the Command for their deep sense of commitment which is evident in the impressive revenue collection.

Controller Ahmadu Shuaibu, who recognizes and appreciates the robust synergy and collaboration of critical stakeholders and Government agencies, also thanked the Comptroller-General of Customs, col. Ibrahim Hammed Ali (Rtd) and the management team for the opportunity given him to serve in his capacity as Customs Area Controller of Ogun 11 and for their unflinching support.
