President General of Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria Comrade Adewale Adeyanju is set to occupy the seat of Deputy National President of Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) in the month of February 2023 .
The PG has been nominated to contest against three Others for the position.
This information was been revealed through the union’s media relations officer, Comrade Oniha Erazua on Thursday In Lagos.
According to him the election is slated to take place on the 7th and 8th of February in the year 2023 during the 13th National Delegates Congress.
On the Election Day,
Comrade Adeyanju would compete against the following three candidates: Comrades Kabiru Ado Sanni from the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN) and Comrade Audi Titus Amba from the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT).
However, Comrade Joseph Ajaero from the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) is running unopposed for NLC president.
Meanwhile it is good to note, that Comrade Adeyanju is presently running a second term tenure, as he was re-elected for his admirable leadership style that none could fit in during the union’s delegates conference, of 2021 in Lagos.
