The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has written another chapter in its history books, raking in a staggering ₦28,102,000,914.61 in a single day Tuesday, 18th August 2026 the highest daily revenue collection ever recorded by the Command.

The milestone eclipses the Command’s previous record of  ₦20.1 billion set in September 2025, just months after the current Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, assumed office.

This breakthrough comes on the heels of another landmark achievement in July 2026, when Apapa Command posted an unprecedented ₦323 billion in monthly revenue. Together, the figures underscore the impact of ongoing reforms, stronger compliance, smarter trade facilitation, intelligence-driven enforcement, and the growing efficiency of digital Customs operations.

“This Is About Nation Building” – Oshoba
Speaking on the feat, Comptroller Oshoba said the achievement goes beyond breaking records.

“This is not just about numbers. It is about what Customs revenue means for Nigerians. Every naira collected goes into building roads, securing our borders, funding schools, hospitals, and other essential services that touch the lives of ordinary citizens.”

He dedicated the record to the Government and people of Nigeria*, while commending the *Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, and the NCS management for championing modernization, automation, and reforms that have made Customs more transparent, efficient, and business-friendly.

The CAC also recognized the critical role of *compliant importers, exporters, licensed Customs agents, and patriotic Nigerians who provide credible intelligence.

“Every compliant transaction is a contribution to national development. I urge all stakeholders to continue to support legitimate trade. A stronger revenue base gives government the capacity to deliver services and create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.”

Comptroller Oshoba cautioned officers against complacency, describing the record as “a responsibility to do more.”
He directed personnel to balance revenue drive with trade facilitation, professionalism, transparency, and respect for stakeholders, and to resolve disputes promptly so that Customs processes do not stifle lawful business.

Under Comptroller Oshoba’s leadership, the Apapa Command has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining this upward trajectory through enhanced revenue collection, efficient trade facilitation, professionalism, and stakeholder collaboration.

With this new benchmark, the Command is signaling that a more efficient, tech-driven, and compliant port system is not just possible — it is already delivering results for Nigeria.
