The Customs Area Controller of Tin Can Island Port Command, Comptroller F.O. Onyeka, has announced a remarkable achievement: the command has exceeded its 2025 revenue target by ₦51,837,652,129.32, generating a total revenue of ₦1,576,507,651,601.84 against a target of ₦1,524,669,999,478.52.

Addressing the press, Onyeka attributed the success to deliberate reforms, improved processes, and collective responsibility. Key revenue drivers include bulk cargo, general merchandise, and used vehicles, bolstered by diligent cargo examination and strict adherence to customs procedures.

The command prioritized eliminating revenue leakages and operational inefficiencies, streamlining alerts, and strengthening internal coordination. Stakeholder engagement with importers, customs agents, terminal operators, and shipping companies also yielded positive results.

On enforcement, Onyeka highlighted significant seizures of prohibited and improperly declared goods, underscoring the command’s commitment to national security and economic integrity. “While we facilitate trade, we will not compromise national security, public safety, or economic integrity,” he emphasized.

Appreciating the Comptroller-General of Customs, Dr. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for exemplary leadership, Onyeka also thanked stakeholders for improved compliance and officers for their dedication. The command remains focused on sustaining revenue generation and intensifying enforcement.
