MWUN CONNECTS WITH MUSLIM FAITHFUL DURING RAMADAN FAST
By Ebenezer William
Under the capable leadership of Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, fnli, HCFSP, the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) joins Muslin Brothers and Sisters in Nigeria and around the world in their faith-filled fast, which will culminate in the lesser Hajj in the Holy Land of Mecca at the end of Ramadan.
For all Muslims in Nigeria and around the world, it is customary to observe the Ramadan period, which begins today, the first day of the month.
Ramadan is a time to constantly fear Allah, the Almighty, who is the Merciful and the Beneficiary of all people. As taught and exemplified by the Holy Prophet Mohammed (peace be unto Him) while on earth doing good, it is also a solemn time for us to ask for forgiveness of our sins, our loved ones, and our leaders in positions of authority. We should also beg for mercy and forgiveness for one another, regardless of religion, race, or ethnicity.
Prince Adewale Adeyanju, the seasoned Maritime numero uno labour leader in the country, Deputy President, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), and Vice President Global, International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) admonished Muslims to show exemplary character and behavior, exhibit love on one another, eschew bitterness and violence, be tolerant with with every neighbour in the society so as to get the best from the Almighty God during and after the Ramadan exercise, which of course will give every Muslim a sigh of succour, happiness, true joy and forgiveness from God Almighty before the Eid – Fitar feast.
Dr Adeyanju prays fervently that this year’s Ramadan will be of immense success with genuine repentance of our sins, while cautioning every Muslim to be of good courage and cheers as the Almighty Allah is all compassionate and full of mercy and love, hence, our supplications will be rewarded by the Almighty Allah anytime we ask for forgiveness. Having said that, I wish every Muslim faithful a Happy Ramadan period.
