NCS: Newly Promoted Ahmadu Shuaibu Gears Up For Fresh Challenges
… Declares total commitment to professionalism in service

The Customs Zonal Coordinator Zone ‘A’, ACG Mohammed Bello Jibo, has charged Newly Promoted Officers to redouble their Commitment and rededicate themselves towards effective service delivery.
Jibo who gave this order during the decoration ceremony of more than 100 officers from the Ranks of Comptrollers, Deputy Comptrollers, and Assistant Comptrollers on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at the Customs Training College, Ikeja Lagos
The Zonal Coordinator urged the newly decorated officers not to relent in their oars but to instead see their new offices as a call to higher service to the NCS and Nigerians.
In his words, “This is a call for more commitment, more hard work, more selflessness and more patriotism. And as the saying goes, to whom much is given, much is expected.
“I, therefore, implore you all to take your new positions as a bigger challenge; you must rededicate yourselves towards your duties and responsibilities as a way of justifying that trust and confidence with which this nation has bestowed on you as fine and distinguished members of the NCS.”
He pointed out that the government has high expectations, particularly with the new revenue drive.
In his goodwill message, the Customs Area Controller in charge of Tincan Island Port Command, Comptroller Dera Nnadi, congratulated the newly promoted officers while also advising them to always maintain professionalism in carrying out their duties, as well as improving the relationship with stakeholders.
One of the newly promoted officers, Comptroller Ahmadu Shuaibu, assured of his dedication to duty, stating that the promotion would positively impact officers’ responsibilities.
The impact will be monumental; it will spur us to do more than we have done before in all fields, including Anti-Smuggling, Revenue Generation, and Facilitation of Trade,” he affirmed.
He expressed gratitude to the management of the Nigeria Customs Service for finding them worthy of the elevation.
One of the newly promoted officer, Assistant Controller of Customs, Bolaji Adigun, the staff officer at PTML Command, promised that his command would ensure the service achieves the revenue target as well as curb smuggling in and out of the country. He urged the trading community to be compliant, noting that a lot of people are ignorant of the policies for trade.
Adigun also urged the trading public to read the news more and be abreast of the fiscal policies, adding that the Customs are only enforcers of government’s fiscal policies.
In the same vein, it was celebration galore for the Ogun 1 Customs Command as it appears, Success runs in the Command’s DNA as the newly decorated Controller Shuaibu in turn decorated his PRO, the Ogun 1 Customs Command’s Public Relations Officer,Hammed Bukoye Oloyede. Chief Superintendent of Customsw who was elevated to Chief Superintendent of Customs from the rank of Superintendent.
The indefatigable PRO who was elated with the promotion and decoration by his Controller gave Kudos to the CGC for being prompt with the promotion immediately after the examination. He promised to redouble his effort as he said, “I know the result for promotion is more hard work and I’m ready for it. ” He thanked his Controller, Compt. AHMADU Bello Shuaibu for being there all the time. He thanked God for making it possible.
