The Nigerian Ports Authority has described the fire incident at its Marina Head office as a minor blip.
The fire outbreak which occurred at the early hours of Wednesday 22nd September, 2021 was suspected to have been triggered by an electrical surge which affected 3 offices on the 6th floor of the Broad Street wing of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Headquarters.
Operatives of the NPA Fire Service Department immediately mobilized to the scene and promptly contained the fire.
Working in line with safety protocols, the management has since cordoned off affected floors as investigations are ongoing to ascertain the actual cause of the fire.
