The Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade (Prince) Dr. Adewale Adeyanju, has extended warm Eid Mubarak greetings to Muslims and all Nigerians, using the occasion to call for peace, unity, and a renewed sense of hope in the country. He emphasized that festive periods like this should serve as a reminder of our shared humanity and the need to work together for national progress.

Comrade Adeyanju, the Oyo Prince and former President-General of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria, struck an optimistic tone in his message. He urged Nigerians to cultivate a positive mindset toward both the country and its leadership. According to him, Nigeria has largely weathered its most difficult phase, marked by insecurity and economic hardship. He encouraged citizens to remain hopeful and steadfast, noting that the sacrifices made by the people will soon yield tangible benefits and relief.

Marking the Sallah celebration, the labour leader reflected on the mercy and justice of Almighty Allah. He reminded Nigerians not to lose faith, stressing that God’s wisdom and timing surpass human understanding. He noted that as a nation, we must accept that our plans and perspectives are limited compared to Allah’s infinite knowledge, and trust that His divine justice will prevail in the affairs of the country.

In his capacity as President of the International Transport Workers’ Federation, Comrade Adeyanju acknowledged that Nigeria is currently undergoing a painful but necessary phase of transformation. He expressed confidence that the challenges being experienced today are temporary and will ultimately lead to a better, more stable future for all citizens.

He also made a direct appeal to the Federal Government to urgently tackle the rising tide of insecurity and senseless killings across the country. He warned that no nation can achieve meaningful development or attract investment where fear, violence, and uncertainty dominate the daily lives of its people.

Comrade Adeyanju commended the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Hon. Gboyega Oyetola, for the significant and visible progress recorded in the sector under his leadership. He described the minister’s efforts as impactful and a model of purposeful governance.

The maritime labour leader also extended appreciation to key stakeholders in the maritime industry. He gave special recognition to the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority, the Director-General of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, the leadership of STOAN, and other industry captains. He prayed that Allah would reward their dedication and use the blessings of this festive season to advance their work and contributions to national service.

He further prayed that Almighty Allah would grant Nigeria’s leaders the wisdom, courage, and compassion needed to steer the country toward prosperity and stability. He observed that a large number of Nigerians are currently struggling to meet their daily needs, and urged the government to respond swiftly and decisively to the cries of the people for relief and better living conditions.

Concluding his message, Comrade Adeyanju thanked Nigerians for their resilience, patience, and tolerance in the face of economic and security challenges. He reminded everyone that hardship is not permanent, and that a brighter future is on the horizon. He expressed faith that soon, the light will break through the darkness, giving Nigerians every reason to glorify Allah for His endless mercy and justice.

Eid Mubarak to all Nigerians.
