The National President of the Customs Officer’s Wives Association (COWA), Mrs Kikelomo Adeniyi, on Monday launched the Adopt-A-School Campaign. This according to her is a significant step towards promoting environmental protection and tackling climate change in Nigeria.
The launch was, Held at Nigeria Customs School, Idiroko, the Adopt-A-School Campaign got real with the adoption of 250 students from five customs commands as Green Ambassadors.
“These young trailblazers are ready to spark eco-friendly vibes in their schools and communities,” she said.
Mrs Adeniyi shared that these 250 Green Ambassadors, handpicked from five customs commands, will be the eco-warriors of their schools and communities, driving environmental awareness and sustainable practices forward.

These young change-makers are stepping up with purpose, From digging in the dirt to plant trees, to keeping their surroundings spick and span, these Green Ambassadors are leading by example, inspiring others with their commitment to responsible environmental practices
Mrs Adeniyi points out the alarming environmental challenges communities are up against – from devastating floods to scorching temperatures and the plastic waste epidemic, it’s a threat to our health, food security, and very way of life.
The Green Water Sustainability Initiative is a game-changer! A national program with a clear mission: to ignite environmental responsibility in customs communities and ripple out across Nigeria.
Comptroller Oladapo Afeni nailed it when he emphasized that the Green Border Initiative is totally in sync with the global and national push for environmental accountability.
Comptroller Afeni drove the point home, By strengthening bonds between NCS and border communities, this program is laying the groundwork for lasting partnerships, trust, and cooperation – paving the way for sustainable development and security.
