Comptroller Adelaja Fosters Interagency Cooperation in Oyo State

The Customs Area Controller, Oyo/Osun Command,
Comptroller Joseph Olugbuyi Adelaja, recently paid courtesy visits to several sister agencies in Oyo State, including the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Immigration Service, and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) ¹. This move aims to reaffirm his commitment to interagency collaboration and strengthen ties with fellow security agencies.
During his visits, Comptroller Adelaja expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage with these agencies, acknowledging their critical roles in safeguarding national borders, protecting lives, and maintaining security within the country ¹. He also reiterated the core functions of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), including revenue generation, trade facilitation, and suppression of smuggling.
To enhance efficiency and effectiveness, Comptroller Adelaja called for increased cooperation in joint training programs, coordinated border operations, and enhanced intelligence sharing ¹. He commended NAFDAC’s efforts in ensuring public health and safety, particularly in preventing the circulation of unsafe pharmaceutical products and food items
The General Officer Commanding, 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, the Controller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, and the Zonal Director of NAFDAC all expressed their support and commitment to continued collaboration with the Nigeria Customs Service ¹. This renewed commitment aims to strengthen interagency cooperation for the security and prosperity of the nation.
