Cultist Killed In Rivalry Clash With Another Group

Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Police has disclosed that a suspected member of the Eiye confraternity, known as “Mosquito,” has been killed in a clash with another cult where his left hand was severed, and taken away.
Speaking on the incident, Police Spokesperson, SP. Omolola Odutola stated that a police investigation had revealed that cultists were involved in a confrontation along Ijagun Road, in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
Upon receipt of the information via a phone call by a citizen at about 2340 hours on 11th August 2024, the Divisional Police Officer dispatched a team of officers to the scene.
Police further stated, “On arrival, and after a careful examination, the Divisional Police Officer discovered the body of an unidentified middle-aged man with machete wounds and gunshot injuries.
The body was evacuated and has been transferred to Ijebu Ode State Hospital where he was pronounced dead and placed in the morgue.
Information added that six expended cartridges were found at the scene.
According to the Police, the investigation is ongoing, with efforts being made to apprehend the suspects who fled the scene and unravel the pattern of cutting off the left hand of the deceased.
