NLC/TUC SUSPEND NATIONWIDE STRIKE
By Ebenezer William
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have suspended the ongoing nationwide strike embaeked on by both Unions for a week based on the request of Federal Government for both Unions to stoop down the industrial action in order to negotiate the national minimum wage with the tripartite committee on moving from the previously proposed N60,000 Naira minimum wage, which the Unions outrightly rejected.
Consequently, the leadership of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), under the auspices of Comrade (Prince) Dr Adewale Adeyanju, fnli, HFCPSP, has directed all its members in MWUN to immediately return to work with immediate effect.
